The simple answer to this question of why Dinosaurs are not explicitly mentioned in the Bible is the same reason why it does not talk about the Great Wall of China, the pyramids of Egypt or even the Taj Mahal in India. It is not within the scope of the document.

Every book, no matter how big/vast, cannot tell you everything. Every book leaves out a lot more than it includes. For example, books on taxonomy and animals may not even talk about Dinosaurs.

So what is the scope of the Bible?

The purpose of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation is based on the central theme of mankind’s redemption from the bondage of sin and our path to salvation through Christ Jesus.

Simply put, the purpose of the scripture is to make you wise unto salvation.

2 Timothy 3:15-17 (NIV)

15. and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

16. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

17. so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

In conclusion, the Bible gives us a broad overview of the creation event, and then it takes us through events of one bloodline which, is the bloodline through which the Messiah would be born.

So the reason the Bible exists is to make you wise unto salvation; it is not meant to tell you everything about everything, in fact, no book could, all writing is selective.

The purpose of the Bible is to make you wise unto Salvation.
