To remain in Christ means;

Believing that he is God’s Son.

1 John 4:15. (NKJV)

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.

Receiving him as Savior and Lord.

John 1:12 (NKJV)

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

Doing what God says.

1 John 3:24 (NKJV)

Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

Continuing to believe the Good News.

1 John 2:24 (NKJV)

Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.

Relating in love to the community of believers, Christ’s body;

John 15:12 (NKJV)

This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

In response to overwhelming grace, believers will remain constant in thanksgiving, praise, prayer, communion, and conscious fellowship with the Lord.

There will be an increasing endeavor in the believer to yield to God’s abiding Holy Spirit, to obey His commands and to walk in His will.

Our relationship with Christ is evident when we display an unwavering faith in what Christ has done for us and in who we are in Christ.
